Counselling Psychology

“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.”
― Paulo CoelhoThe Devil and Miss Prym

The last time when I wrote about my career path was when I was leaving my job and just beginning to embark on a 3 year training course in becoming a Counselling Psychologist.

It has been one year since then, and Year 1 has probably been one of the toughest years of my career yet. I endured challenges as well as embarked on new experiences but overall it has been rewarding and massively growth enhancing, both on a professional and personal level.

This isn't me complaining, not at all but it really has hit reality that I will be starting Year 2 in less than a weeks time. The feeling is scary yet exciting - even though I anticipate that it will be a tough, busy and hard working year, you can never quite prepare yourself for what is to come. With every challenge comes growth and learning and that is what is so satisfying and worthwhile.

I have worked incredibly hard this last year, although I must admit, I could have worked a little more but passing my first year has given me the motivation and platform to bounce off from for my second year. I am so relieved and happy to have passed my first year and I am definitely ready to take on the second year of this three year process.

Let it begin!
