Bournemouth 2013

Bournemouth 2013

We started the morning with a nice McDonald’s breakfast at Waterloo station. We got our tickets and headed to board the train. We managed to get a table seat and the train was quite quiet so it was nice. We sat down and ate our breakfast. It was lovely. We spoke about various things and the two hours train ride had flown by. We arrived in Bournemouth around 11am. The weather was ok, a little cloudy, warm and no rain. As we came out of the station, we were a little lost but soon after we managed to find our way to the beach by foot. It was about a 15-minute walk. The view was good; we had to walk down the cliffs to the beach. When we got to the beach, we sat down for a while. We stepped into the water and although it was cloudy, there were breaks of sunshine.

Around 1pm, we decided to walk towards the pier as it seemed busier and more shops were there. We headed along and decided to go get some food. We went to Harry’s Ramsden’s Fish and Chips Restaurant and sat up in the terrace. The food was amazing. It was honestly the best fish and chips ever! Tasted so well, it was unbelievable!

After a very satisfied meal, we along the beach to check out what were happening. The weather had perked up and more people had come out to enjoy the beach. It was lovely. Even though we were totally full up, we decided to grab an ice cream. We strolled along the beach whilst eating our ice creams and sat down and did some talking and laughing about the people around us. It was nice.

After a while, we decided to do some more exploring, we walked towards the pier and there was an admission fee of 60p, we decided to pay it and check it out. Along the pier we had a few jokes and we decided to sit on the chairs outside a restaurant even though we wasn’t buying anything. It was really funny and I was so tired I almost fell asleep. It was nice to have music in my ears and watching the blue sea with the sun shining down. It was relaxing.

It started to get a bit breezy so we decided it was time to go check out what else was around. We walked to the information desk and asked them but they couldn’t give us much information. We walked along to the gardens and it was nice. There was an aquarium but that was busy and also a little overpriced. We saw a mini golf area but that was busy too. We then did some shopping and stopped off in a coffee shop for a break. As we was heading back to the beach, we had saw the Bournemouth Balloon was up and running. Due to the weather conditions, it wasn’t up and running earlier. We decided to go on to it. It was £12.50 per adult and the wait for it wasn’t too long.

Not long after buying the tickets, we boarded onto the Bournemouth Balloon which rises 500ft up in the air but at all times attached to the ground. The views from the top were amazing! It would have been better if there were no clouds in the sky, but for a day that was predicted to rain, the weather was good enough.

It was coming close to the time we had to head back to the station, so we decided to stroll our way back. We headed back by foot and still had a little time to kill so we went to McDonald’s and got some food. It had been a lovely day and we reflected back on the day and just spoke about random things.

Leaving Bournemouth
We boarded our train back to Waterloo and half way through the journey, we had spotted a dog, so my friend decided to move to sit somewhere else. I refused to move straight away so I took a nap for a while. Towards the last half an hour or so of the trip, I went to find where she had moved to and we had a good laugh. At around 10pm, we had arrived back in Waterloo. It was a lovely day trip to Bournemouth!
